Why did I ever choose this network? Spotty network coverage, dropped calls, intermittent 3G service. Arghh!!
Had to get that off my chest. I feel much better now.
EDIT: 妈的，I'm in a coffeeshop and I can't send a simple txt message. This is ridiculous. I'm a glutton for punishment. After two years, I refuse to change networks because that means losing my phone number...

Hi, are you sure? It could be different here but if you are on a contract I know you can sometimes take your phone number with you. It takes a little while but you might want to ask.
Where are you? I've had pretty good luck with Unicom 3G in Beijing, but their 2G coverage sucks pretty hard.So far as number portability goes: they've been talking about it for years, but as far as I know there's no way to do it in most places around China at the moment -- there have been rumors that the MIIT will force operators to implement it around the end of this year, but they've been talking about this literally since I started following tech industry news in 2005.

联通信号确实不好，要想信号好用移动。联通主要是上网速度比较快。
