@user23286,Welcome to Popup Chinese. :) Two alternatives to iTunes are downloading the podcasts/transcripts directly from our site, or using any other RSS reader (if you want to avoid iTunes but still automate the podcast/transcript downloads you might want to take a look at Juice: http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/).
